I’m June Lovejoy, an American-born creative based in Japan, working across entertainment, independent media, performance, and adult culture.
You might know me from Japanese adult videos, my independent production company Lovejoy Studios, or an appearance on a stage somewhere around the world.
My career has taken many forms, but the common thread has always been curiosity, creative independence, and a love of connecting with people.
Beyond the Camera
A career shaped by performance and conversation
I began working in the Japanese adult video industry in 2020, gaining firsthand experience in a world that attracts international attention but is often misunderstood from the outside.
Working directly with performers and others in the industry taught me how much more there is to these stories than what audiences see on screen.
Through interviews, bilingual media, and my own creative work, I’ve had opportunities to share the personalities, experiences, and perspectives of the people behind the performances.
My career also extends into modeling, acting, film, television, and digital media. I love the creative freedom of performance, whether that means becoming a character, bringing an idea to life, or collaborating with someone to tell a story.
Today, I continue exploring that freedom through independent projects and Lovejoy Studios.
Connecting Cultures
More than just translation
Language has always played an important role in my work.
As a bilingual English and Japanese speaker with experience in translation and interpretation, I’ve seen how easily meaning can be lost between cultures.
Sometimes that means explaining a custom or helping someone navigate an unfamiliar situation. Other times, it means creating space for conversations that might never happen without someone to bridge the language gap.
I believe the best cultural experiences begin with genuine curiosity and the willingness to listen.
Tokyo Love District
A more personal way to discover Japan
I originally co-founded Tokyo Love District as another way to connect people with Japan’s nightlife, adult entertainment, and alternative culture.
Through editorial coverage, interviews, venue guides, and personalized experiences, TLD brings readers and visitors closer to the people and communities behind Japan’s most interesting scenes.
My experience in the entertainment industry, combined with my language skills and local relationships, helps me introduce visitors to experiences that can otherwise feel difficult to approach.
As a private guide, I work with individuals and small groups to create personalized itineraries built around their interests and comfort levels.
For me, a great experience isn’t simply about visiting an unusual place. It’s about understanding what makes that place special.

My work has taken me beyond Japan for international guest appearances, performances, panels, and educational events.
Whether I’m speaking to an audience, participating in a discussion, or teaching, I enjoy making unfamiliar subjects more approachable through firsthand experience, candid conversation, and humor.
I’m also a professional dominant affiliated with DOMINANT TOKYO.
This is a separate part of my professional life, grounded in communication, trust, creativity, and clearly understood boundaries.
Across these different disciplines, I continue finding new ways to connect with audiences and explore the relationship between performance, culture, and personal expression.

I’ve never been particularly good at limiting myself to just one creative path.
My work has brought me into film studios, nightlife venues, convention halls, performance spaces, and conversations with people from remarkably different backgrounds.
What connects these experiences is my interest in the people involved.
I like asking questions, hearing people’s stories, making things together, and discovering something unexpected along the way.
My career continues to evolve, and that’s exactly how I like it.
